Ana Korzun

I am a first-year postgraduate research student in the School of Education working in the field of motivation and attitudes to learning English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). My background is in English and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) and I hold a BA degree in Philology from the LCC International University (2009) and master’s degree in EAL and Education, University of Leeds (2015).

Currently, I am expanding my interest in learners’ cultural identity to investigate adult migrants’ attitudes to language learning, their motives and motivations and how their future vision of possible selves can act as a motivational tool in accelerating more conscious language learning. My PhD research focuses on belonging, processes of settlement, being an outsider and potential integration into a wider society.
